Angelo State's Jones Named LSC Male Athlete of the Year
Markus Jones of Fort Worth, a former defensive lineman on the Angelo State University Rams football team, has been named the 2019 Lone Star Conference Male Athlete of the Year. Jones graduated in December and recently signed as an NFL free agent with the Baltimore Ravens following his stellar senior season at ASU. He broke the Rams' career sacks record on his way to being named LSC Defensive Player of the Year, South Central Region Defensive Player of the Year, D2CCA Defensive Player of the Year and Don Hansen Defensive Player of the Year, along with picking up first team All-America honors from the Associated Press, Don Hansen and AFCA. Angelo State University conferred 820 undergraduate and graduate degrees on 814 graduates during its 2019 spring commencement exercises on May 11 in the ASU Junell Center/Stephens Arena in San Angelo, Texas. ASU's Jones Named Harlon Hill Finalist
Angelo State defensive lineman Markus Jones has been named one of nine finalists for the Harlon Hill Trophy, given each year to the best football player in Division II. The trophy is named for the late Harlon Hill, a former University of North Alabama standout who excelled with the Lions from 1950-53 before going on to fame in the NFL with the Chicago Bears. Baldwin Wallace University awards merit scholarships to accomplished first-year students
Nearly 600 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall earned $7.7 million in merit scholarships for their outstanding high school achievements. BW grants a wide range of scholarships to current students each year. Including merit and need-based scholarships, BW students received over $48 million in financial support from the University for the 2018-2019 academic year.

McMurry University's first-year women's soccer head coach Charles Nobles has, from the outset, stressed the importance of his program always being a positive representation of the University. McMurry War Hawks Women's Soccer Player Earns Team Sportsmanship Award
McMurry University is one of eight American Southwest Conference member institutions, which were recognized by the 13 conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committees as a recipient of an ASC-SAAC Team Sportsmanship awards for the fall 2017 sport seasons. The War Hawks' women's soccer team was presented with the ASC's Team Sportsmanship honor for the second-consecutive season and third time in its history (also winning in 2011).
